Cherry Crumble 🍒

Prep Time: 5 minutes. Bake Time: 30 minutes. Serves: 4-6

Cherries are so in season right now and the first thing we wanted to bake was of course a cherry crumble...Sweet, fruity filling with that crunchy crumbly topping is just so delicious! Theres something about a cherry crumble that just makes you feel so wholesome and it's one of those desserts that can be eaten in summer and winter! It's so simple to make and can be baked as a big batch or just as a little treat for you! So why not bake away...

 


Ingredients needed to make it:

 

For the filling:



- 750g pitted cherries

- Juice of 1 lemon

- 50g soft brown sugar

- 1/2 vanilla extract

 

For the topping:

 

- 100g cold butter

- 150g plain flour

- 50g soft brown sugar

- 100g rolled oats




Method:



1) Start off by preheating your oven to gas mark 4/ 350F/ 180C.


2) Next into a large bowl add in the cherries, lemon juice, sugar and vanilla and mix well. Then tip in to a lasagne dish or 4-6 individual dishes like we've done and set aside.  

3) Then in another large bowl add in the flour and butter and using your fingertips make the mixture into breadcrumbs. Next stir in the oats and sugar and combine everything well. 

4) Finally add the crumble topping onto the cherry mixture and bake in the oven for approximately 30 minutes or until golden brown.

The most amazing fruity dessert that has all textures that you want from something sweet! Enjoy with custard or vanilla ice cream 🥰
